What else can I do to protect my child’s privacy?
Here are a few more ways to protect your child's privacy:
- When you create an account for your child, you’ll be asked to provide a unique username. To protect your child’s privacy, don’t use their real name.
- Teach your child why they shouldn’t share their real name or other identifying information when they’re online.

- How come just because a person is 13+ they are treated like they are not a 'child"? Even public schools recognize that anyone under the age of majority have parents( legal guardians) with legal over-site rights and responsibility's. Just watched a news report of a "supposed" responsible adult coach (Not on a Khan site) who took off with a teen... parents didn't have over-site of kids internet!(3 votes)
- US federal law was set up to protect kids under the age of 13 starting with COPPA. All the restrictions with Federal Law dictate that a lot of them can be lifted at 13.(6 votes)
